LDF isn’t LDF without a visit to Tent London at the Truman Breweries on Brick Lane, where we’ll be making a bee-line to The Galvin Brothers’ stand to admire some beautifully crafted, British-made furniture.
In our collaboration with Tent London this year, we’re giving you the chance to win a prize from the Galvin Brothers’ collection. Their ‘(Perfectly) Imperfect Stool’, with its brilliantly disruptive odd leg, beautifully captures The Galvin Brothers’ approach — celebrating traditional joinery techniques and playfully exploring time-honoured methods in a contemporary way. The stool is handmade from ash, with walnut detail, and that lovely undulating leg is an ode to the traditional skill of wood-turning.
The stool up for grabs in our Objekts of Desire giveaway is one of three ‘maker's prototypes’, from a limited edition of one-hundred stools, all numbered and handcrafted in the Galvin Brothers’ Yorkshire workshop.
