Who says television rots your brain? Scottish illustrator Lauren Gentry reminisces about the adverts that influenced her in her youth.
As a child, I was a television addict: countless hours were spent watching anything with bright colours and a catchy theme tune. If it was animated, i'd probably have it on repeat. I can't say whether they make a comment about the era, but these advertisements are reminiscent of my 90s childhood and in some way have shaped my aesthetic. Yellow Pages — Mistletoe Advert (1992) A nostalgic reminder of school holidays spent at my Gran's home in the Scottish borders — she had caught the advert on a VHS recording of The Secret of Nimh.
