The third instalment of Anorak magazine’s Happy Activity Book features a winning combination of top notch illustrators and clever games for kids, proving strong graphic design isn’t just for adults.
If you have kids (or even if you haven’t) and you’re yet to come across Anorak magazine, be prepared for something special. Beautifully put together and packed with stories and creative exercises devised by top illustrators, Anorak’s been a manual for how to fuse child-friendly content with great graphic design ever since it started back in 2006. Its latest offering is the third instalment of the Happy Activity Book, which features the same top-spec work, but instead focusing on games, mazes, and colouring activities to keep little ones creativity engaged (and hopefully silent as the grave) for hours.
New York-based illustrator Tim Lahan, whose work is more often found in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s and campaigns for Nike, has created the issue’s cover. His work is joined by pages from Grace Danico, Ryan Chapman, Leah Greenberg, Cachette Jack, Antonio Ladrillo, Marcus Oakley and many others. All thirty-six pages have been printed on recycled offset paper using vegetable ink. A treat for kids and adults alike.Happy Activity Book Volume 3
