Ahead of the opening of a permanent space later on in the year, the House of Illustration launches a series of events, talks and workshops to whet our appetite for what’s to come.

This summer House of Illustration will open a permanent home in the middle of the King's Cross regeneration area. Backed by Quentin Blake, the organisation champions illustration in all its forms, from satirical cartoons to children’s books, and commercial adverts to scientific drawings. To promote its work in the lead up to the space’s opening, a series of events have been launched today, kicking off by an evening of music and live drawing called QuickDraw Live.

From 20 May, House of Illustration will invite some of the country’s top illustrators to talk about some of their work and the industry’s big issues. Paul Cox, Lauren Child, Christopher Brown, Marion Deuchars, Roger Law, Laura Carlin and Richard Kilroy are already on the bill, with more names to be added. These evening talks will take place in the South Gallery events space on the ground floor of House of Illustration's new venue. Other events include a series of workshops for children and an Illustrator’s Fair on the 8 June.
