Most briefs require engagement with the ethos of the client, but Dutch studio Team Thursday’s identity and poster series for new dance festival Moving Futures takes this idea to new heights. The festival aims to work with emerging, contemporary choreographers in order to introduce and support and new generation of dance projects. What makes Moving Futures different from other festivals is its nomadic nature, moving from city to city, and its drive to engage members of the public by inviting them to performances, workshops, lectures and networking events.

With the aim of reflecting this open-minded and interactive programme, Team Thursday created a run of typographic-led posters and customised each in a different way, highlighting key information with a red marker. As expected from such a brief, movement was a key aspect to the brief, with Loes van Esch and Simone Trum and their team of helpers taking inspiration from dance moves and physical expression. The result was two-thousand unique hand-drawn posters that were distributed around the involved cities.
