Danish letter wizards Playtype cast a spell over the Aram Store in Covent Garden for a pop-up shop full of typographic fare — we have a goodie bag for you to win.
“We are in love with letters,” proclaims Playtype, the type foundry and products shop of Danish branding agency e-Types. Playtype is bringing that love to London this month with a pop-up shop at the Aram Store in Covent Garden and we have a booty bag of Playtime goodies for one lucky Grafik reader to win.
The Aram outing will be the first time that Playtype’s Scandi-infused, type-based products have popped-up on display to shoppers outside of its home city of Copenhagen. The range includes posters, stationery and mugs, all boasting its best bespoke fonts. Creative director Rasmus Ibfelt reflects on how the company’s venture into retail has changed their design practice:
“By presenting our type not only on digital platforms, and using paper again actually underlines the craftsmanship that goes into creating typography,” he says. “Also, the retail space adds an element of lifestyle to our way of thinking when we develop and present a new typography. The retail space gives the foundry a flavour of play, colour and aesthetics.”
The good folk of Playtype have given us a goody bag containing a ‘Banana’ poster, ‘Techno’ mug ‘Play’ notepad’ and ‘I’m World’ postcard block’. For a chance of winning, email your answer to the following question, stating PLAYTYPE in the subject line to giveaway@grafik.net by midnight Monday 25th April.
