British artist and designer Jamie Julien Brown has turned his hand to diverse materials and locations for his eye-poppingly colourful works, from magazine covers to shop exteriors – even painting an entire abandoned house bright green for his work 'Monopoly House'. Now his graphic illustrations are gracing a set of children's plates in an exclusive range for Motherland.
The designs commissioned by Motherland for its shop are a playful take on classic grub, entitled British Food, Deconstructed, the three ceramic plates feature a Memphis-inspired visual deconstruction of fish & chips, meat and two veg and cooked breakfast.
In keeping with the distinctly British feel of the project, the plates have been manufactured and screen-printed at a family run factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
Despite being aimed at kids, the range of playful plates would make a fun addition to any grow-up table too.
