It’s a big day for top publication People of Print and its team dedicated to relentlessly mining print-based inspiration. Not only is the third edition of its print magazine, Element 003, ready to meet the public, but it’s also celebrating the launch of its new People of Print book, published by Thames and Hudson.

Element 003 is themed around variable data, most prominently visible on its cover which can be personalised by readers thanks to HP Indigo technology, a new printing innovation which allows smaller customisable print runs. Inside (printed using litho in blue, black and orange), the content reflects this innovative approach with articles on personalisation, variable data and the idea of permanence, and insight from the likes of Eike König, Hansje van Halem, YEVU Clothing, Peter Judson, Studio Moross, Kin Design, and Brixton Brewery. There’s also a feature by us at Grafik on the fascinating histories behind our favourite new typefaces.

During the launch, which takes place at London Graphic Centre in Covent Garden this evening, People of Print’s designer James Lunn will be laying out personalised versions of the cover for all to see on the big screen, giving guests the opportunity to see typesetting in action. Studio Mothership will be running a letterpress workshop and there’ll be live t-shirt screen-printing throughout the night.

We expect it to be rammed, so don’t forget to book your free ticket on People of Print’s Eventbrite page here.
