London studio Bibliothèque celebrates its tenth birthday by curating a pop-up bookshop, featuring rare gems from their collection and limed-edition publications created for their anniversary.
When Tim Beard, Jonathon Jeffrey and Mason Wells came together to launch London studio Bibliothèque in 2004, they were brought together by a deep interest in ideas and lateral thinking rather than stylistic similarities. Aptly then, to celebrate their decade in design the practice has eschewed a more straightforward gallery exhibition or publication, instead deciding to create a pop-up bookshop and site-specific installation for the occasion.
Located in Hoxton Arches, the Re-Set installation will reinterpret and remix the studio's output to date, which has included projects for the likes of Nike, Adidas, environmental graphics for Google and the V&A, and interiors for restauranteur Alan Yau and Vitsoe. Far from a pat on the back, the installation looks set to be a thought-provoking re-imagination of this influential studio’s rich portfolio - it’s been made in collaboration with innovative London studio The Workers and will shown across large-scale LCD screens. For the accompanying bookshop, Bibliotheque have weeded out their ultimate favourites from Artwords already impressive stock, and will feature hard-to-find titles, some rarities from the studio’s own collection, plus a few limited-edition publications created just for the birthday celebrations.
